Maine Summer Landscape Painting Workshop: July 21-28, 2022

Tom is extremely pleased to announce a new venue for his annual Maine Summer Landscape Painting Workshop. The historic Merrill House in Andover, Maine, will be this year's location from July 21st - July 28th. The house and a 30’ x 60,’ north-light studio, built by Stanford White, sits on 110 acres, of which the twenty-five surrounding the house were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. 

If you are serious about landscape painting and would like to learn how the Boston Painters (Frank Benson, Edmund Tarbell, William Paxton) approached their work out of doors, Tom will be able to help you. His teaching is based on the methods of his teacher R. H. Ives Gammell. Participants will work out of doors painting the beautiful Maine landscape. Each day will be filled with demonstrations and hands-on criticism, followed by an end-of-day critique. If weather is a problem at any time, the class will work in the estate's beautiful 30’ x 60’ north-light studio.

WORKSHOP PRICING

$2500 for the week includes the painting workshop, accommodations, and meals for Thursday, July 21st dinner through Thursday, July 28th breakfast. Transportation or materials are not included. If you would like to attend with a spouse, there are a limited number of rooms available for an additional fee.
